I felt he looked like a Jojo character. Still Jojo characters always look so flamboyant anyway. lol. Became more of a classic Shoujo art style like Sailor Moon/ Toxedo mask crud. You really don't see that art style outside Jojo these days even in Shoujo anime. lol.

As an example of newer art styles after the 90s you often see art like Fruit Basket where males mostly had sharp eyes for all the handsome men outside Yuki who had large eyes. Still Yuki was often associated being able to look feminine which female characters tend to have large eyes unless seeming more villainous and "dark." Female characters tend to often have large eyes.

Also notably males watch more Shoujo now then the 90s on the direction changes of the stories and art. Maybe it's why the old flamboyant art style was abandoned. lol.
